Meet Your Trainer

My name is Justin Merriman, and I am the owner of FitLyfe llc. 

I have been in the industry, professionally, for over 7 years now.

Since graduating with my Bachelors of Clinical Exercise Science (2016) from Grand Valley State University, I have worked with people from all different walks of life - from college athletes to extremely busy executive employees.

I spent 3.5 years after college living in Hawaii, loving life, & building my business. Now since I moved back to Michigan, I'm at a point where I have the ability to not only do personal training in-person, but also remotely.

The services I offer give me a versatile way of impacting as many lives as possible, no matter the distance between us. 

Of the hundreds of lives changed, it all started with a simple decision to seek more out of one's self. Once we take action, results are the only option. You will get to your destination, & learn the process along the way.

The goal is to suit you up with all the tools & skills necessary for you to live a FIT LYFE.

He went above and beyond to make sure I had what I needed with my workouts and diet. He assembled my meal plan, gave me food ideas, made sure I was comfortable with the workouts, gave me a clear and detailed plan for weekly workouts, pushed me when I needed it, and always got back with me quickly when I did have questions.   • Justin puts the "P" back in "Personal training":  he is Perceptive, Pleasant, and Positive!  I'm a fit and active sixty-something, and I've had several personal trainers over the past 20 years.  My goal is to keep my body ready for outdoor activities I love, like hiking and paddleboarding.  Justin stands out for his knowledge about the body and how it works.  I'm never bored during our sessions!  We work out virtually and I have limited equipment, e.g. water bottles for weights, and a couple of exercise bands.  But he is so creative!  He keeps every workout fresh by adding new moves and changing the pace.  He always corrects my form in a very positive way. Some days we focus on strength training, other times he emphasizes cardio, or balance.  Of all the trainers I've had over the years, Justin excels at asking for feedback, observing my progress, and then designing custom workouts to build up my fitness level.
